Call to Worship
MINISTER: Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
PEOPLE: But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.
MINISTER: He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief;
ALL: When his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
Isaiah 53:4-5, 7a, 10
领会:他被欺压,在受苦的时候却不开口;

When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died
My richest gain I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my prideForbid it Lord that I should boast
Save in the death of Christ my God
All the vain things that charm me most
I sacrifice them to His bloodSee from His head His hands His feet
Sorrow and love flow mingled down
Did ever such love and sorrow meet
Or thorns compose so rich a crownWere the whole realm of nature mine
That were an offering far too small
Love so amazing so divine
Demands my soul my life my all
Demands my soul my life my all—

The Word of Forgiveness
Scripture Reader: Cecilia Hurst
26 And as they led him away, they seized one Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, and laid on him the cross, to carry it behind Jesus. 27 And there followed him a great multitude of the people and of women who were mourning and lamenting for him. 28 But turning to them Jesus said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. 29 For behold, the days are coming when they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren and the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’ 30 Then they will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us,’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us.’ 31 For if they do these things when the wood is green, what will happen when it is dry?” 32 Two others, who were criminals, were led away to be put to death with him. 33 And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. 34 And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.
- Luke 23:26-34
The Word of Salvation
Scripture Reader: Mo Yang
35 And the people stood by, watching, but the rulers scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others; let him save himself, if he is the Christ of God, his Chosen One!” 36 The soldiers also mocked him, coming up and offering him sour wine 37 and saying, “If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!” 38 There was also an inscription over him, “This is the King of the Jews.” 39 One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him, saying, “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!” 40 But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” 42 And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” 43 And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”
- Luke 23:35-43
The Word of Relationship
Scripture Reader: Elizabeth Sanders
25 ...standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” 27 Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home.
John 19:25b-27

I hear the Savior say, “Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray, find in Me thine all in all.”
Lord, now indeed I find, Thy power and Thine alone,
Can change the leper’s spots, and melt the heart of stone.Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe;
Sin had let a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.And when before the throne, I stand in him complete,
I’ll lay my trophies down, all down at Jesus’ feet.Oh praise the One, who paid my debt, and raised this life up from the dead! (x5)

Man of Sorrows! What a name, for the Son of God who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim, ruined sinners to reclaim
Bearing shame and scoffing rude, in my place condemned He stood
Sealed my pardon with His blood, sealed my pardon with His bloodHallelujah, hallelujah, what a Savior,
Hallelujah, hallelujah, what a SaviorGuilty vile and helpless we, spotless Lamb of God was He
Full atonement, can it be? Full atonement, can it be?
Lifted up was He to die; “It is finished” was His cry
Now in heav’n exalted high, now in heav’n exalted highHallelujah, hallelujah, what a Savior,
Hallelujah, hallelujah, what a SaviorWhen He comes, our glorious King, all His ransomed home to bring
Then anew His song we’ll sing, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, O HallelujahHallelujah, hallelujah, what a Savior,
Hallelujah, hallelujah, what a Savior

45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour. 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” 47 And some of the bystanders, hearing it, said, “This man is calling Elijah.” 48 And one of them at once ran and took a sponge, filled it with sour wine, and put it on a reed and gave it to him to drink. 49 But the others said, “Wait, let us see whether Elijah will come to save him.” 50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit.
Matthew 27:45-50

Words by Horatius Bonar
Music by Justin Ruddy
Arranged by Sam JC LeeI lay my sins on Jesus,
the spotless Lamb of God;
He bears them all, and frees us
from the accursèd load;I bring my guilt to Jesus,
to wash my crimson stains
White in His blood most precious,
till not a stain remains.I lay my wants on Jesus;
All fullness dwells in Him;
He heals all my diseases,
He doth my soul redeem.I lay my griefs on Jesus,
my burdens and my cares;
He from them all releases,
He all my sorrows shares.I rest my soul on Jesus,
this weary soul of mine;
His right hand me embraces,
I on His breast recline.I love the Name of Jesus,
Immanuel, Christ, the Lord;
Like fragrance on the breezes
His Name abroad is poured.I long to be like Jesus,
strong, loving, lowly, mild;
I long to be like Jesus,
the Father’s holy Child:
I long to be with Jesus,
strong, loving, lowly, mild;
I long to be with Jesus,
The Word of Reunion
Scripture Reader: Susie Richardson
44 It was now about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour, 45 while the sun’s light failed. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. 46 Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last. 47 Now when the centurion saw what had taken place, he praised God, saying, “Certainly this man was innocent!” 48 And all the crowds that had assembled for this spectacle, when they saw what had taken place, returned home beating their breasts. 49 And all his acquaintances and the women who had followed him from Galilee stood at a distance watching these things.
Luke 23:44-49
