Senior Pastor Election Results

Dear Citylife Church,

During this past Sunday’s congregational meeting, Pastor Ben Bae passed the members’ vote (91.5% in favor) to be our Senior Pastor, and he has accepted our call. We look forward with great joy to what God has in store for Citylife Church.

We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Senior Pastor Search Committee (Jon Chen, Karina Devadoss, Daniel Jeong, Sylvia Kehlenbrink, Eric Lazarian, Charlotte Page, Andy Poling, Kurt Richardson, and Andrew Van Meerbeke). Thank you for your prayerful labor and countless hours poured out into this process over the past 9 months. It has been beautiful to see the committee engage our congregation to participate and pray and see our people respond in kind.

We acknowledge that there is probably a mix of thoughts and feelings about the outcome of this vote, and perhaps this is part of the beauty of being together. We pray that the Lord ministers to all of us by His Spirit. May He comfort, encourage and give us His peace as we continue to put our trust in Him. May He give us boldness and courage as we challenge one another to follow Him. We also invite all of us to continue to love one another deeply, to listen to one another with care, and to engage, pray, discern, and search out how God is calling each of us to be a valuable part of His diverse body.

Our faithful God has led us through so much together, family. The overwhelmed emotions and tears on Sunday embodied just how painful and costly this journey has been for many of us. God has been loving us all along. He heard our cries, pulled us through, and is beginning the next chapter in the story that He has already written for our church. He is making our steps secure and putting a new song in our mouths. Let many who see and hear what God is doing at Citylife fear and put their trust in Him. Thanks be to God!
