Elder Candidate Profiles
We are grateful to God for Tim and John. Please join us in praying and fasting for the month of October as we anticipate elder nominations during our congregational meeting vote on 11/3.
Tim Lau
I was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Boston in 2012 to attend BU, and am currently a Software Engineer at Wayfair. I have been attending Citylife since 2013, and previously served as a CG leader, and am currently part of the Worship Ministry. My wife, Hannah, and I live in Jamaica Plain with our daughter Asher and are part of the JP CG.
What are you thankful to God for in the time He has placed you in Boston/Citylife?
During my time in Boston, I’m most thankful for the community God has provided for me and my family. Over the years we have had many friends walk alongside us and support us as we’ve grown here.
An interesting fact about yourself: I was in a Titleist golf ball commercial.
John Lee
I am a native of Miami, Florida who came up here for college at Boston University. I have been attending Citylife since 2008 with fellow Intervarsity Christian Fellowship friends and former interim senior pastor, Bruce Cooke, and have served the church in various capacities throughout the years. I met my wife, Chloe, at Citylife Allston CG and we currently live in the Metrowest area of Boston with our daughter, Sophia. We are part of the Metrowest CG. Professionally, I am a doctor of physical therapy at an outpatient hospital setting.
What is your prayer for the future of Citylife?
My prayer for the future of Citylife is for deep friendships intergenerationally and among diverse groups in order to be a welcoming congregation as well as powerful witnesses of Christ.
An interesting fact about yourself: If I did not pursue college, I had plans to join the Professional Bowlers Association and tour the nation.
